Muslim Love Letters
With a title like that, you know this show had to be interesting.
This was the first episode of the new format of the ILM Show. I was joined by my friend and brother in Islam, Bilal Stroud from BilalStroud.com. He is a very lively and active Muslim who has a lot of experience in dealing with Muslim marital and relationship problems.
In this episode, we dealt with several letters and comments from ILM readers. Even though Bilal and I have fun, these are serious issues. One of the most important issues was a husband’s addiction to pornography. I touch on this topic briefly and others in my book Sex in Islam. This is a serious issue that requires some level of counseling and will power to overcome.
Three Serious Issues
We decided to focus on three comments and emails in this show.
The first was an email from a young sister who’s in love with a Catholic man. As you probably know, it is not permissible for Muslim women to marry non-Muslim men, whether they be Protestant, Catholic, Jew or otherwise.
The second issue was a woman who was upset that her husband wasn’t being intimate enough with her. Part of the reason he wasn’t being intimate, however, was because he had a porn addiction. Since he was satisfying himself in other ways, he didn’t seem to have to bother with his wife.
The final issue was a woman who became a second wife. Unfortunately, she and her husband married in secret. When his first wife found out, well…you probably already know it wasn’t a pretty sight.

I do have to apologize for the audio quality. Bilal was closer to the mic than I was and I didn’t realize how much a problem it was until after the show was over. Inshallah, I’m going to work on it and get it better.
