ILM Show 4: Fiqh, Black History Month, The Crusades

This episode of the ILM Show was recorded on February 14, 2012. In this episode, I talk about some basic Fiqh (Islamic Jurisprudence) fundamentals basically, the four major classes of actions (Fard, Mustahab, Makrooh, Haram).

I also talk about Black History Month and my thoughts on this subject. This is the major portion of the show and I spend a significant amount time discussing whether African-American Muslims should even celebrate Black History month or not. I also talk about the dangers of tribalism and nationalism.

Finally, I discuss the history of the Crusades with a short clip from my audio recording “The Crusades: An Islamic Perspective.”
